Preservation of issues—exclusion of evidence—offer of proof made—ruling obtained
In a prosecution for multiple sexual offenses, defendant properly preserved for appellate review his argument that the trial court erroneously excluded a written statement by the victim–which could have been used to impeach the victim's credibility–where, as required by Appellate Rule 10(a)(1), defendant objected to the ruling by clearly stating the grounds for admitting the statement and made an offer of proof, after which the trial court expressly noted that the issue was preserved for review.
